My name is Shelley Menk and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pelvic and Women's Health.

I founded Active Pelvic Health to bridge the gap between pelvic floor physical therapy and sports medicine. Staying active is so important for our physical health and mental well-being, and I know how disruptive and frustrating pelvic health concerns can be when you're trying to maintain an active lifestyle. Too often, people are told to stop running, lifting, or exercising instead of being given the tools to thrive. I'm passionate about helping people find solutions that allow them to keep doing what they love while addressing the root cause of their symptoms.

To provide the highest level of care for my patients, I completed the Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency through the University of New Mexico, an advanced post-doctoral training program focused on developing expertise across the full spectrum of pelvic health. This advanced clinical training, mentorship and competency assessment deepened my experience in:

  • Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

  • Pelvic Pain

  • Bowel and Bladder Dysfunction

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum Conditions

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse

  • Male Pelvic Health

In addition to advanced pelvic health training, I have pursued extensive education in:

  • Athlete-specific Rehabilitation

  • Running Mechanics

  • SI joint and tailbone pain

  • Lumbopelvic Biomechanics

  • Orthopedic Rehabilitation

My clinical experience spans outpatient pelvic health, sports rehabilitation, and acute care, including work with complex orthopedic and neurological conditions.

I believe pelvic health care should be individualized, empowering, and grounded in education. My mission is to provide top notch evidence-based care that helps you stay active without distraction, limitation, or worry.

Yours,

Shelley Menk, PT, DPT, PWCS
